Job Overview:
They are seeking passionate and knowledgeable Cricket Writers to join their editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game, from international tournaments to domestic leagues, and the ability to craft engaging, accurate, and timely content for a global cricket audience.
✏️ Key Responsibilities:
Write news, match previews, live blogs, and post-match reports with insight and clarity.
Produce feature articles, opinion pieces, and player profiles focused on cricket.
Cover major international and domestic tournaments, including Test, ODI, T20 formats, and franchise leagues like the IPL, BBL, The Hundred, and more.
Provide quick turnaround coverage of breaking news and developing stories.
Collaborate with editors to pitch story ideas and meet publishing deadlines.
Ensure all articles meet editorial standards for accuracy, tone, and style.
Maintain a consistent voice and demonstrate a deep understanding of cricket culture and history.
Qualifications & Skills:
⚡ 1-3 years experience in sports journalism, preferably cricket-focused.
⚡ Strong writing and editing skills with attention to grammar, flow, and detail.
⚡ In-depth knowledge of cricket rules, players, teams, and current trends.
⚡ Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
⚡ Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
⚡ Experience with WordPress content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms is desirable.
⚡ A degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
