The Delhi Capitals have announced their skipper for IPL 2025. Indian all-rounder Axar Patel will take the captaincy reigns from Rishabh Pant, whom the Lucknow Super Giants bought in the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Axar Patel was the vice-captain of DC last season
Axar’s name was already making all the right noise for the captaincy role ever since Rishabh Pant parted ways from the franchise. The Indian all-rounder was the vice captain of the side last season, and despite names like KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis in the side, the Delhi team management has trusted their vice captain from the last season to take up the captaincy role.

Axar will be new to the captaincy role in a pressure tournament like the IPL, but with some ardent names like KL Rahul, Faf du Plessis, and Mitchell Starc by his side, Axar has ample support.
