The first Sunday of Tata IPL 2025 is going to be a doubleheader. The afternoon game is set to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad between the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals and the finalists of the last season Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad got their cheat code in the last season i.e., their opening pair. The duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma yielded plenty of runs at a brisk pace and were the architects in taking Sunrisers into the finals. However, a flop show in the finals against Kolkata Knight Riders, eluded the Hyderabad based franchise from claiming their hands on the elusive trophy for the third time.
Talking about Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural champions came close to the title in the 2022 edition when they lost in the finals to Gujarat Titans. The following season was a forgetful one for the Sanju Samson-led side as they failed to make it to the playoffs despite getting closer for qualification. In the 2024 IPL season, RR made it to the playoffs and won the eliminator against RCB. However, they lost just before the final in the Eliminator to SRH by 36 runs.
After losing the Eliminator of the last season to this very side, the Royals have a score to settle. Will they get the better of SRH this time around or history will repeat itself? We will find out on Sunday afternoon.
