The World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025 is set to be played between Australia and South Africa from June 11 to 15 at Lord’s in London. The Australian squad was announced on May 13, and witnesses Pat Cummins returning to lead the side.
On that note, let’s take a look at Australia’s journey to the WTC Final and their Predicted XI.
Australia’s Predicted XI for AUS vs SA WTC Final 2025
Australia’s Predicted XI: Travis Head, Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc
The WTC Final squad for Australia saw a major boost, with the inclusion of pacers, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood and all-rounder Cameron Green. The trio missed the last series against Sri Lanka due to injury concerns. Another pacer, Mitchell Starc will look to continue his strong form for the side.
Steve Smith, who led the side in Sri Lanka, will serve as the vice-captain. Along with him, the XI will also have experienced batters, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne.
Josh Inglis retained his place in the squad after scoring a ton in his maiden Test series against Sri Lanka earlier this year. However, he is not likely to be a part of XI due to the presence of Green. Alex Carey will be the wicket-keeper for the side in the fixture.
Meanwhile, Sam Konstas was also rewarded for confident showing against India. He is expected to open along with Travis Head in the WTC Final. As the surface will assist pacers, Nathan Lyon will be the only spinner in the XI.
Australia full squad: Pat Cummins (c), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Matt Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith (vc), Mitchell Starc, Beau Webster.
