All-rounder Mitchell Santner has been excluded from Mumbai Indians (MI) playing XI in their clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday, April 27. The Wankhede Stadium is hosting the exciting contest between both sides.

The reason behind Santner is likely due to him having a slight niggle on his finger, as the Kiwi international has been a fine contributor to the side.

Santner has scalped four wickets and scored 39 runs in nine games. He turned the game in MI’s favor against Delhi Capitals by picking figures of 2/43.

Here’s what MI captain Pandya said at the toss time:

“We were planning to bowl, but looking at the heat – we don’t mind batting as well. It’s about adapting and not think too much about the heat. ESA game has always been very special, the initiative by Ambani has been very special and it gives us added motivation, let’s give them (the children) a good show. The momentum always helps, but in IPL every game matters and do the right things.”

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Ryan Rickelton (wk), Rohit Sharma, Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Naman Dhir, Corbin Bosch, Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Karn Sharma

Impact Subs: Jasprit Bumrah, Raj Bawa, Satyanarayana Raju, Robin Minz, Reece Topley

Who has replaced Mitchell Santner in MI vs LSG game?

Corbin Bosch has come in place of Mitchell Santner for Mumbai Indians. The South African all-rounder will make his IPL debut in this game, having previously taken part in CPL and SA20.

Interestingly, Bosch played for MI Cape Town in SA20 2025, where he finished with 11 wickets in eight games. He was a diamond pick for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2025 draft, but pulled out of the tournament to participate in the IPL. As a result, he was banned from the next edition of PSL.

Meanwhile, Karn Sharma has replaced Vignesh Puthur. Notably, Sharma is coming off an injury he sustained during MI’s clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Jasprit Bumrah has been included as an Impact sub and will replace Rohit in the second half of the game. In the last few games, Rohit had been serving as a substitute.
