Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Mohammed Shami has been excluded from the Playing 11 in their ongoing encounter against Mumbai Indians (MI). However, he still finds a place in the Impact substitutes list for the home side. 

Jaydev Unadkat has replaced Shami in the XI, primarily due to the latter’s bad form. The right-arm pacer has scalped only five wickets in seven appearances at an expensive economy of 10.87. 

Shami registered the second-most expensive IPL spell against Punjab Kings, where he conceded 75 runs off his four overs. He might be used by SRH if the need arises in the second half of the game, as MI has elected to bowl.

Karn Sharma will also miss SRH vs MI IPL 2025 match

MI spinner Karn Sharma will miss the IPL 2025 clash against SRH. He sustained an injury during the reverse encounter against SRH in Mumbai on Thursday (April 17). Karn tried to attempt a catch of Abhishek Sharma, but the ball dropped just in front of him, resulting in him sustaining a finger injury. He was taken off the field immediately.

Ahead of their IPL 2025 clash against Chennai Super Kings, MI all-rounder Mitchell Santner had given the update regarding Sharma’s injury concerns.

He has got a couple of stitches in his hand. He’s here today, I’m not sure if he’s bowling or if he’s available for tomorrow, but it looked like a nasty little cut and it’s a shame.

Karn Sharma is yet to recover from his injury and thus Mumbai Indians chose to play Vignesh Puthur against SRH on Wednesday.
