Faf du Plessis will miss the IPL 2025 fixtures between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals as the South African batter is still nursing from an injury. He picked up an injury on April 10 against his former franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and has been out of action since then.

On April 16, Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel confirmed that Faf du Plessis will miss three matches.

“I had been told that he wouldn’t be able to play three matches – that’s the time he needs to recover – and two matches are done. Maybe he will play the Gujarat game. But the physio has to confirm how his rehab has been going.”

Faf du Plessis missed Delhi Capitals’s IPL 2025 matches against Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Gujarat Titans. The Capitals lost to Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans by 12 runs and seven wickets, respectively. They defeated Rajasthan Royals in the Super Over after the match ended in a tie.

Faf was expected to return to the playing 11 against Lucknow Super Giants. However, the South African batter is yet to recover from his injury.

Delhi Capitals are taking on Lucknow Super Giants on April 22 away from home and have made one change in their playing 11. They have dropped Mohit Sharma for Sri Lanka pacer Dushmantha Chameera.
