Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR will miss the services of Indian pacer Sandeep Sharma, who is out due to a broken finger, skipper Riyan Parag confirmed at the toss.

Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2025. Rajasthan Royals made a statement about the same, which read:

“The franchise extend their best wishes for his full and swift recovery. The team management is currently in the process of finalizing a suitable replacement, with an official announcement expected soon.”

Akash Madhwal replaces Sandeep Sharma in RR vs MI match

Right-arm pacer Akash Madhwal has replaced Sandeep Sharma in RR playing 11 for their match against Mumbai Indians. The 31-year-old made his IPL debut in 2023 for Mumbai Indians. He will play his first game in RR colors against his former side.

Overall, Akash has picked up 19 wickets in 13 matches across two editions in the Indian Premier League. He has picked up 54 wickets in 46 T20 matches overs the years.
