Punjab Kings (PBKS) take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday (May 4). LSG replace Ravi Bishnoi with Akash Singh as the pitch favors seamers.

Why is Ravi Bishnoi not playing today?

Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant did not mention the reason of Ravi Bishnoi’s exclusion from the playing 11 during the toss. However, it is understood that Bishnoi is not playing against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala as the pitch is expected to produce more bounce and seam. Spinners are unlikely to get enough help from the surface, thus the Indian spinner being dropped is a tactical change from LSG.

A look at Ravi Bishnoi’s performances in IPL 2025

Ravi Bishnoi has picked up nine wickets in 10 matches for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The Indian spinner has bowled 216 balls and conceded 375 runs at a economy of 10.42. His best bowling figures of 2/18 in IPL 2025 came against Chennai Super Kings.

He also picked up two wickets each against Delhi Capitals (2/43), and Gujarat Titans (2/18). Bishnoi has picked up one wicket each against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians. The 24-year-old has gone wicketless in the remaining four matches.
