Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are officially out of contention for the race to the IPL 2025 playoffs. Their clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday (May 5) in Hyderabad was called off due to rain after the culmination of the first innings.
The home side won the toss and opted to field first, which went in their favor. In only the first ball, captain Cummins got rid of Karun Nair, which opened the floodgates for them.
In the powerplay itself, the Capitals lost their four wickets. Soon, the team’s reliable batter KL Rahul (10) was dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat. However, Tristan Stubbs (41*) and Vipraj Nigam (18) stitched a 33-run stand to resurrect the team’s innings.
Thereafter, Ashutosh Sharma (41) played an important knock to help the visitors reach 133/7 in their designated 20 overs. Cummins was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets for SRH.
Unfortunately, the second innings couldn’t be started as consistent rain showers erupted in the stadium.
