Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a 10-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 59 of IPL 2025 on Sunday, May 18 in Jaipur. With this victory, PBKS have qualified for the playoffs.
Batting first, Kings were in a spot of bother after losing three wickets inside the powerplay. However, Nehal Wadhera and skipper Shreyas Iyer were impressive in steering the side on a comfortable note.
Although, Iyer (30) departed in the 11th over, Wadhera went on to slam 70 off 37 to put Kings in a dominating position. Thereafter, Shashank Singh (59*) remained unbeaten to take PBKS to a daunting 219-run total.
In response, RR were off to a sensational start with Yashasvi Jaiswal tonking Arshdeep Singh for 22 runs in the first over. Then, youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi also joined him to turn into a tormentor for the Kings’ bowlers.
Harpreet Brar turn the game in favor of PBKS
However, Suryavanshi (40) was dismissed in the fifth over by Harpreet Brar, which curtailed the side’s momentum. A few overs later, Jaiswal (50) also made his way back into the dugout, courtesy of Brar.
Dhruv Jurel (53) could only play a significant knock in the middle-order, as the Royals fell short by three runs. Harpreet Brar was the pick of the bowlers for PBKS with three wickets.
