Mumbai Indians (MI) outclassed Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 50 of IPL 2025 on Thursday (May 1) in Jaipur. They won the game by a whopping margin of 100 runs and now hold the top position in the points table.
After being invited to bat first, MI got off to a sublime start with their openers, Ryan Rickelton (61) and Rohit Sharma (53). The duo built a 116-run stand before getting dismissed in quick succession by Maheesh Theekshana and Riyan Parag, respectively.
Thereafter, Suryakumar Yadav (48*) and Hardik Pandya (48*) played impressive knocks to propel the visitors to a daunting 217-run total.
In response, RR lost their in-form openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi (0) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) in the first two overs. The rest of the core batters also failed to rise to the occasion, as the home side lost five wickets, despite scoring 62 runs.
Jofra Archer (30) was the top-scorer for the home side, as they were bundled out for 117. Karn Sharma was the top bowler for MI with figures of 3/23. Meanwhile, Trent Boult also took three wickets for the Mumbai-based side.

With their sixth victory on the trot, Mumbai Indians are the top team in the IPL 2025 with 14 points. On the other hand, RR are out of the playoffs as a consequence of this loss.
