Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) managed to notch their first win of IPL 2025 at home against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday.
RCB batted first and were off to a sublime start, with Phil Salt (23) and Virat Kohli, as the duo garnered 59 runs in the first six overs. Thereafter, Devdutt Padikkal continued his good form to hit 50 off 27, while Kohli slammed 70 off 42 balls. In the end, Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (20*) were the contributors, as RCB posted a 205-run total. Sandeep Sharma bagged two wickets for RR.
Thereafter, the Royals were off to a sensational start, as they garnered 72 runs in the powerplay overs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (49 off 19) playing a delightful knock. Although, Nitish Rana (28) and Riyan Parag (22) had good starts, they failed to convert it into a big knock.
Although, Dhruv Jurel (47) played a fine knock, his dismissal meant RR lost the game by 11 runs. Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers for RCB with figures of 4/33.

With this victory, RCB have jumped to the third position, with six victories in nine games. Meanwhile, RR stays in the eighth position with only two wins in nine appearances. The Royals are now officially out of the race for the playoffs.
