Punjab Kings (PBKS) notched up a terrific seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 69 of IPL 2025 on Monday (May 26). The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur hosted the exciting fixture.
Suryakumar Yadav’s knock help MI post a modest score
Invited to bat first, MI got off to an impressive start, with Ryan Rickelton (27) and Rohit Sharma (24). Although Tilak Varma (1) and Will Jacks (17) couldn’t support the team much, Suryakumar Yadav maintained his consistency.
Yadav (57) joined hands with Hardik Pandya (26) and Naman Dhir (20) to help MI post a 184-run target. Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and Vijaykumar Vyashak bagged two wickets each.
Josh Inglis, Priyansh Arya make light work of chase
Thereafter, Prabhsimran Singh (13) played a struggling knock, but Priyansh Arya looked on song and played crisp shots to get the team going. He got support from Josh Inglis, who looked impressive with his positive intent.
Arya went on to slam 62 off 35, before getting dismissed by Mitchell Santner. Meanwhile, Inglis played a dominating 73-run knock to steer the side in a comfortable fashion. Shreyas Iyer (26*) remained unbeaten to help PBKS seal the chase with nine balls to spare.
