Mumbai Indians (MI) completed a dominating 54-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 45 of IPL 2025. Interestingly, it was their fifth victory on the bounce, and has brought them close to qualifying for the playoffs.

After being invited to bat first, MI lost Rohit Sharma (12) early, but Ryan Rickelton was impressive to increase the team’s tempo in the powerplay. The South African slammed 58 and was well supported by Will Jacks (29).

Thereafter, Suryakumar Yadav played a delightful knock of 54 to continue the momentum. In the end, Naman Dhir (25*) and Corbin Bosch (20) helped the side to end on 215. Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan picked up two wickets each.

In response, LSG couldn’t get much contribution from in-form Aiden Markram. Although, Mitchell Marsh (34) and Nicholas Pooran (27) played well, they couldn’t convert their starts into a substantial knock.

Thereafter, Ayush Badoni (35) and David Miller (24) were the chief contributors, before LSG were all-out for 161. Jasprit Bumrah was the wrecker-in-chief for the home side with four wickets.
