Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 61 of IPL 2025 on Monday (May 19) in Lucknow.

LSG gets boosted by Marsh – Markram’s partnership

LSG started on a grand note, with their openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. The duo built a 115-run stand before Marsh (65) was dismissed in the 11th over.

In the subsequent over, Rishabh Pant (7) continued his horrendous run in the season. Nevertheless, Markram looked dominating, but he was unfortunately run-out in the 16th over. Thereafter, Pooran (45) was the significant contributor, as LSG posted 205 on the board. Eshan Malinga took two wickets for the visitors.

Abhishek Sharma’s breathtaking knocks floors LSG

In response, SRH lost Atharva Taide (13) early. However, Abhishek Sharma unleashed his explosive intent on the Super Giants’ bowling attack. In particular, Sharma smashed four consecutive sixes against Ravi Bishnoi to bring up his fifty off 18 balls.

However, Sharma (59 off 20) was dismissed by Digvesh Rathi in the eighth over. The dismissal slowed SRH’s momentum, but didn’t deter their confidence. The pair of Ishan Kishan (35) and Heinrich Klaasen (47) were impressive to build a 41-run stand.

Kamindu Mendis (32*) also played a notable knock, before getting retired hurt. In the end, the Sunrisers sealed the chase with 10 balls to spare.
