The IPL 2025 is all set to resume on May 17 and will now run until June 3. The six venues, namely Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru will host the remaining games of the tournament.
Currently, Gujarat Titans are at the top position in the points table with 16 points. The teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are already eliminated. Other teams are still in contention for a spot in the playoffs.
However, many teams will be affected by the revised schedule, due to the absence of overseas players, who will be busy due to their international commitments. Let’s take a look at the team-wise list of foreign players who are likely to be unavailable for the rest of the season.
List of Foreign Players likely to be unavailable for rest of IPL 2025
Gujarat Titans
Jos Buttler
The side’s third-highest run-scorer, Jos Buttler will participate until the league stage. He will then head to England for a white-ball series against West Indies, starting May 29.
Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada will be available for the league games, but might miss out on the playoffs due to being named in South Africa’s squad for the WTC Final.
Sherfane Rutherford
The middle-order batter, Sherfane Rutherford will play the remaining league games and miss the playoffs. He is named in the West Indies squad to face England.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Jacob Bethell
The talented youngster, Jacob Bethell will play the league matches, before heading to England for the West Indies series.
Romario Shepherd
The all-rounder, Romario Shepherd will be available only till the league stage, after being named in the Caribbean squad for the England Tour.
Josh Hazlewood
RCB’s lead pacer Josh Hazlewood will not take part in IPL 2025 due to a shoulder injury.
Lungi Ngidi
The South African pacer will only be available for the league stage after being named in SA’s squad for the WTC Final.

Mumbai Indians
Ryan Rickelton
One of the finest batters for MI this season, Ryan Rickelton is expected to miss the IPL 2025 playoffs due to him being part of SA’s WTC Final squad.
Will Jacks
The batting all-rounder, Will Jacks will not be available for the playoffs after earning an international recall for the West Indies series.
Corbin Bosch
Corbin Bosch is also named in Proteas’ WTC squad and is likely to miss the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals
Jofra Archer
As the Royals are out of contention for the playoffs, Jofra Archer will be available for the remaining games. He is named in the England squad for the West Indies series.
Chennai Super Kings
Jamie Overton
The bowling all-rounder, Jamie Overton will be available for all games, despite being included in England’s squad for West Indies series. This is due to CSK out of the playoffs race.
Delhi Capitals
Mitchell Starc
The star left-arm pacer, Mitchell Starc is not likely to come back to India to take further part in the IPL 2025.
Tristan Stubbs
If Tristan Stubbs comes back to India, he will only be available until the league stage due to him being part of SA’s WTC Final squad.
Jake Fraser-McGurk
As per reports, Jake Fraser-McGurk was rattled by events in Dharamsala and is not likely to play the remaining IPL 2025 games.
Punjab Kings
Josh Inglis
It’s unclear whether the keeper-batter will return to India to play for the Punjab-based franchise. He is also named in Australia’s squad for the WTC Final.
Marcus Stoinis
The Aussie all-rounder, Marcus Stoinis is unlikely to participate in the remaining games of IPL 2025.
Marco Jansen
If Marco Jansen returns to India, he will only be available until the league stage. He will then head to England for WTC Final preparations.
Lucknow Super Giants
Aiden Markram
South Africa’s key batter Aiden Markram will be busy preparing for the WTC Final against Australia and will miss the playoffs. However, his participation in the league stage is unconfirmed.
