Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a 33-run victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 64 of IPL 2025 on Thursday (May 22) in Ahmedabad.

Mitchell Marsh’s career-best IPL knock boosts LSG

After being invited to bat first, LSG were off to an impressive start, with their openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. The duo built a 91-run stand in less than 10 overs, before Markram was dismissed on 36.

Nevertheless, Marsh continued his onslaught, while slamming 25 runs in a single over against Rashid Khan. The Aussie batter went on to smash 117 off 64 balls, with 10 fours and eight sixes, and crossed the 500-run mark for the first time in his IPL career.

Nicholas Pooran (56* off 27) and Rishabh Pant (16* off 6) remained unbeaten as LSG posted a colossal 235-run total.

In response, GT got a good start yet again, with Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. However, their 46-run stand was broken after Sudharsan (21) was dismissed. Although, Gill (35) and Jos Buttler (33) took starts, they couldn’t convert them into a big knock.

With no hope left, Shahrukh Khan (57) and Sherfane Rutherford (38) played impressive knocks to keep the home side in the hunt. However, their dismissals resulted in the Titans losing by 33 runs.
