Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) prevailed by 14 runs over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 48 of IPL 2025 on Tuesday (April 29) in Delhi. It was the first win for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side since April 11, and has gotten them back on track.
Batting first, KKR got off to a brilliant start. They smashed 79 runs off the first six overs, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26) and Sunil Narine (27). Thereafter, Ajinkya Rahane (26) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44) continued the side’s momentum.
In the end, Rinku Singh (36) was the chief contributor, as the visitors posted a daunting 204-run total on the board. Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers for the Capitals with figures of 3/43.
Faf du Plessis’ knock in vain as Sunil Narine shines with ball
In response, DC lost two wickets in the powerplay, but were able to garner 58 runs in the first six overs, largely driven by Faf du Plessis. The disaster struck for the team when the experienced batter, KL Rahul was run-out in the seventh over.
Although, du Plessis (62) and Vipraj Nigam (38) played impressive knocks, DC lost the game by 14 runs. Sunil Narine was the wrecker-in-chief with figures of 3/29 for the Knight Riders.

KKR retained seventh spot in the points table with their fourth victory of the season. Meanwhile, DC are still fourth with six wins in 10 games.
