The Indian cricket fraternity has praised the bravery of the Indian armed forces amid military conflict with Pakistan.
Indian Cricket lauds Armed Forces amid Indo-Pak Conflict
Several Indian cricketers expressed their support for the Indian armed forces for their decisive response under Operation Sindoor.
The development revolves around the escalating tense situations around the borders of both nations. After the terrorists killed 26 civilians in Pahalgam on April 22, the Indian armed forces retaliated by attacking nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK on May 7. As a result, Pakistan also resorted to violence, rising to a war-like situation.
The Indian ODI skipper Rohit Sharma lauded the army and suggested everyone to refrain from fake news. He wrote:
“With every passing moment, with every decision taken I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone!”
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli expressed gratitude to the armed forces for protecting the nation in these tough times.
“We stand in solidarity with, and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times. We are forever indebted to our heroes for their unwavering bravery and heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for our great nation. JAI HIND,” Virat Kohli said in a post on social media.”
The Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav also shared a message on social media, thanking the army for keeping them safe.
“Massively proud of our forces and their resilience. You are the reason we stay unharmed, at our homes. Big salute to your strength and determination in protecting us at borders. We thank you.”
The Indian ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah also praised the armed forces for showing courage to combat terrorism. He posted:
“Grateful to our armed forces for their courage and bravery. We salute them and remain forever in their debt for everything that they do to keep us safe.”
Furthermore, Mohammed Siraj posted an Instagram story, praising Indian armed forces for their swift response:
“Thank you Indian armed forces for saving 15 Indian cities Iast night when the entire nation was fast asleep. You are the reason we breathe freely. Jai Hind.”

Indian Premier League 2025 suspended for one week
The Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council convened for a meeting on Friday and took a decision to suspend the ongoing edition for one week. With rising tensions across the border and neigbouring cities, there was a risk of untoward incidents during the game as well.
Here is the official statement:
“The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans ; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders.
“At this critical juncture, the BCCI stands firmly with the nation. We express our solidarity with the Government of India, the Armed Forces and the people of our country. The Board salutes the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under Operation Sindoor continue to protect and inspire the nation, as they lead a resolute response to the recent terrorist attack and the unwarranted aggression by Pakistan’s armed forces.”
A total of 58 games have been played so far in IPL 2025, with 12 league fixtures and playoffs still to take place.
