In a move that has stirred debate among fans and pundits alike, pacer Harshit Rana has been added to Team India’s squad for the upcoming five-Test series against England, edging out Anshul Kamboj, who impressed in both the India A tour games and the recent domestic season.
Rana, featured in the first unofficial Test against England Lions, picked up a solitary wicket and was later benched for the second game. Despite modest returns, the 23-year-old has been retained in England and officially added to the senior squad. His selection has raised eyebrows, especially as Kamboj emerged as India A’s leading wicket-taker in the series, claiming five wickets and scoring an unbeaten half-century in Northampton.

Critics have pointed to Kamboj’s consistent performances in the domestic circuit and his recent form as justification for a Test call-up.
