The Indian men’s cricket team head coach, Gautam Gambhir has allegedly received a death threat from ISIS Kashmir.
Notably, he received two threatening emails on April 22, one in the afternoon and another in the evening, with both containing the message “IKillU.” It is the same day when terrorists killed 26 tourists in Pahalgam town of Jammu & Kashmir. The incident marked one of the most horrific attacks on Indian soil since the Pulwama terror strike in 2019.
As a result, Gambhir has filed an FIR with the Delhi Police to safeguard him from any threat.
“We have been informed about an alleged threat mail received on an email ID associated with Sh Gautam Gambhir. Same is being investigated,” said Harsha Vardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central).
After the terrorist attack, Gambhir condemned the attack and posted on X:
“Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike. #Pahalgam”
