India will be keen to start the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with a positive result when they take on Bangladesh in a Group A match. The 8-team tournament has been revived by ICC and this will be the first edition of this 50-over showpiece event since 2017.

For Indian fans, the memory of this tournament might still be fresh. Virat Kohli was leading the team back then and MS Dhoni was still in the team. But India suffered a huge 180-run defeat at the hands of arch-rival Pakistan. Only four players, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya, from 2017 squad are part of current Indian squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Though it’s been almost 8 years since that infamous match, there’s an unfinished job for this Indian team, at least in the 50-over ICC tournaments.

Bangladesh also made it to the semifinal of 2017 Champions Trophy but the current team is lacking confidence. In fact, Bangladesh have lost four times in the last five ODI games. If they are survive Group A, which has India, New Zealand and Pakistan, whole team will have to play out of their skin in every game.
