Broadcast & streaming
- TV: Star Sports network (multilingual coverage).
- Digital: Hotstar/JioHotstar (Disney-Reliance JV is consolidating live sports on Hotstar).
What’s new in Season 12?
- No drawn games: If scores are level after regulation, we now get a structured tie-breaker: a 5-raid shootout culminating in a Golden Raid if needed — in the league stage too, not just playoffs.
- Play-ins + bigger postseason: 8 teams progress (via play-ins + playoffs), raising the stakes of mid-table clashes.
- Shorter league window vs previous long caravan seasons (newsrooms are calling it a “reset”). 108 matches in total, with each team playing 18 games.
Fan angle: Expect more decisive results (fewer dead rubbers), extra late-game strategy (who raids first in shootouts), and fiercer mid-table jostling.
Auction Highlights
- Pardeep Narwal went unsold over the two-day PKL auction (May 31–Jun 1, Mumbai)
- Most Expensive Player:
- Mohammadreza Shadloui → Gujarat Giants for ₹2.23 Cr.
- Devank Dalal → Bengal Warriors for ₹2.205 Cr.
- Retentions & volume: 500+ players listed, 121 sold, 83 retained into the auction window.
Watch out for: Iranian all-rounders (Shadloui, Mirbagheri) and India’s next-gen raiders (Dalal, Ashu Malik) are players to watch out for, due to high mat time and dual-skill upside.
